The weather in the UK has been ridiculously hot of late and my pale Welsh self just cannot deal with it! Despite the sunny weather generally making myself (and everyone else it seems) more cheery, it also means that I get a little sunburn (I never manage to get a tan) and get a little headachey (totally a word). But despite the little annoyances that come with living somewhere that isn't usually this warm and lovely, it's still great to have every day off work be a sunny one, and to be able to spend time walking around, especially when you live in a place like Brighton. I've mainly avoided the beach because every single day it is completely packed full of deckchairs, kids with ice cream all over their faces and people sun worshipping in the tiniest outfits imaginable ( doesn't any one have a job here?) Every Instagram photo that I've posted lately also seems to include food. Maybe the sunshine makes me more hungry than I usually am, or possibly more indulgent. The latter is probably true, since I did have ice cream for breakfast yesterday when going to the cinema. Oops.
Sharday's style is so fresh and clean. It's the kind of style that looks a little relaxed and simple but clearly has been put together by someone who ultimately knows how to arrange beautiful pieces. This is one of the reasons that she's my latest addition to The Handbag Project. With a role as associate buyer in Vancouver, Canada, she loves films, travel and Alexander Wang and clearly loves her sunglasses since they feature in so many of her photos! I wish the weather was that great in the UK that sunglasses could become one of my staples, but alas, it's probably more likely to be an umbrella. Anyway, just looking at her photographs makes me feel summery, and along with her outfits, the other items that she carries around in her Alexander Wang bag are Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Admirable, wallet, iphone complete with cute kitten case, and her Kiki diary. Inspired by my favourite beautiful Russian, Ulyana Sergeenko and her gorgeous pieces, I quickly sketched one of my favourite looks by the designer. I love the quirky, colourful glasses that offset the light coloured dress and shirt, and although I can't really carry a clutch around with me (I carry almost everything in my house around with me) I like the idea of being 'that' girl that can leave the house with just lipgloss and her card. I'll never be that girl, but I can dream, right? I'm a little bit accessory mental, so I think I'd put some more bracelets with this dress and trade the bag for one by Olympia Le-Tan - anyone have a spare £1000 for me to casually pick one up?
