Brighton is a brilliant place for wandering and finding beautiful little shops on the way. I stumbled upon DOWSE, a design company created by Susannah Dowse whilst on my way to pick up a hot chocolate and take a walk by the seafront. I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous range of perfectly laid out prints, neat little tote bags, homeware and accessories all sourced responsibly from British designers. The whole store reads like a well laid out infographic, with bright colours and witty phrases that catch your eye and make everything feel like a sweet pop up book.
The jewellery in particular was obviously what caught my attention. Made from steel and brass the pieces range from necklaces that look like net shapes, pendants made out of reoccurring patterns, and motifs of feathers, birds and bows. My favourite collection is Tiny Geometry, featured here, which is made up of triangles, diamonds and hexagons that feature within large necklaces, matching earrings and what I'm wearing above, charm necklaces. The daintiness of the smaller necklaces juxtaposes with the harsh geometric lines and makes for great everyday wear - it's minimal and matches everything. Anything from DOWSE would make for a great gift, next on my ever extending list is this folding geometric vase cover.
I wore - Pilen Necklace, made from etched stainless steel on a 45cm sterling silver chain.
